As a subcontractor to SAIC Pacific Crossing DBA 8aTechnologies provided network management, design, installation and support services for The Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) and The Combined Joint Task Force in Iraq. Our teams of Network Engineers and Network Technicians have installed a communication system consisting of several LANs and a secure (SIPRNET) network with voice and data capability for use by the CPA and The Combined Joint Task Force and the Iraq Interim Government.
The system supports up to 2500 users with local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) network services, system administration and workstations; Non-secure voice services and switching; transport and ancillary support for Defense Red Switch Network; Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (DRSN; JWICS), and Executive Secure Video Teleconferencing System (SVTS) Secure Compartmented Information (SCI) Video Teleconferencing (VTC) services; Classified and Unclassified Defense Messaging System (DMS) messaging, SIPRNET and NIPRNET networks, Exchange mail, and Department of State (DoS) cable messages; Classified and Unclassified DISA Video Service (DVS) to support minimum of three simultaneous CODECs operating at 384 Kb/s; and Executive 24x7 OSD Cables-like support for the OCPA and Secretariat.

The installation site is the Presidential Palace formerly owned by Saddam Hussein located in Baghdad. The Palace is a sprawling structure with extensive marble, three-foot thick rebar reinforced concrete walls and extremely high ceilings throughout. Special care is given not to damage the marble and adhere to EIA/TIA installation standards. Installation equipment includes CAT 5, multi-pair and fiber optic cable, equipment cabinets, routers and switches, network devices, voice and video equipment.
